Founded in 2008, BlacktipH® has helped pioneer the next generation of fishing content. Today, BlacktipH® is the most subscribed online saltwater fishing show in the world. Our model is simple: provide the viewer with action-packed, high-quality content. The show is hosted by Josh Jorgensen, a passionate angler hungry to catch monster fish. Our goal is to travel and film different sport fishing destinations around the world. The show is centered around conservation and promotes catch and release fishing.

We’re Riley and Elayna, an Australian couple documenting our journey traveling the world by sail despite no previous sailing experience. We’ve been filming it all on YouTube since 2014. We’ve crossed the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Caribbean, and Pacific, and are now raising our boy Lenny on our boat as well.

We’ve suffered terrifying storms, pirate scares, financial breakdowns, equipment failures, water shortages, and other interesting mishaps but we wouldn’t trade living on the Sea and going where the wind takes us for anything.

I bought SV Delos in May of 2008. At the time I had no intentions of documenting our life with YouTube Sailing Videos, but as sometimes happens one thing lead to another and here we are 45 countries, 70,000+ ocean miles, and over 200 YouTube Sailing Videos later. The decision to sell everything, buy a sailboat, and set off on a grand adventure was a defining point in my life.

I’m just a regular guy blessed to have had the opportunities that I’ve had. I started yacht dreaming back in 1998 but @TheYachtGuy started in 2010 at the Newport International Boat Show when I ran out of storage on my phone. I started an Instagram account as a way to save my personal photos, an idea courtesy of my brother who was with me. I was sleeping in my truck at the time, so I needed to see where I wanted to be in the future, and it took on a life of its own. In 2014, after four years of learning Insta, I made it a full-time job.

The Qualified Captain™ started in 2016 based out of the North Carolina coast.

During a long workday out on the water, we regularly saw clueless acts from uneducated boaters who would refuse any help or advice. This led us to create an Instagram page that highlighted these incidents. A place where the rest of the world could laugh along with us and hold boaters accountable.

With the rapid growth of our fans, and the amazing design work for our merchandise, we decided to expand our business. We are proud to be known worldwide on Instagram as a clothing brand, and the number one social media influencer in the marine industry.

As we grow, we look forward to working with others to help educate boaters and continue building a brand that represents why ALL mariners love the water.

We started off sailing around the world with two 90 lb labradoodles named Maverick and Goose while filming our adventures on our YouTube channel. 6 years down the road, we’ve crossed the Pacific, explored countless countries across the world, worked with awesome crew, joined the “Dark Side” and traded out a monohull for a motor yacht, and now with a custom catamaran in the near future!

We spent 6 years restoring and sailing on our 30 foot sailboat, “Atticus I”. We made it as far as Panama, when we decided to upgrade to “Atticus II”, our larger, more reliable family sailboat. We are now heading towards the Mediterranean to start our sailboat family!

In the Summer of 2015 I decided to pack up all of my things and move onto a power boat, that was set to leave from Kemah, Texas to Florida and then ultimately to the Bahamas. After one year of living on the 33 foot cruisers yacht, I started to get the itch to sail. The idea that one could travel around the world by the wind, essentially without having to buy fuel was and interesting proposition.

So, nearly a year later in the spring of 2016, we bought our first sailboat. She was a 1994, 405 Beneteau purchased from a maritime institute in the North East of the United States for $70,000 USD. Since then I have owned several sailboats and have been buying, fixing and selling them to fund our adventures.

Two summers ago I purchased a 1977 Formosa 51, that I plan to sail around the world. After completing a massive refit that included all new spars and rigging, we plan to set out in the spring of 2022 from the Puget Sound, Washington to Mexico and beyond.

Billy, Sierra, and Jetty here and we live on a BOAT! We have sailed up and down the east coast, all of the Bahamas and through the Caribbean. We started this boat life on a small monohull sailboat (Tula) and then moved onto an old trawler (Neverland). We now live on a sailing catamaran named Adrenaline. In order to be able to live this life, we buy boats that need A LOT of boat work and fix them up ourselves. We make these videos so you can experience the work and FUN with us. We hope to inspire, educate, and entertain you along the way. Follow along to see where we go next!

We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we sold everything we owned and saved money for 1,5 years while living aboard our 40-foot custom built aluminium sailboat. Then we untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter in January 2016. After sailing half way around the world, we welcomed our daughter in the end of 2019 and bought a bigger boat (Najad 440) that we’re now cruising on as a family.

I have always been drawn to the ocean and fascinated by the humbling experience of living close to nature. I had a faint idea that I was made for another lofe than the one that the people around me expected me to live. One day, I dared to follow this instinct and bought a neglected sailboat in Panama that I named KARL. My life turned into a wild rollercoaster of challenges that pushed me way beyond my comfort zone and moments of unknown bliss and inner peace.

Over the past years, I had to learn many new skills and tunred my old silboat into a once again sea worthy vessel. My floating home enables me to live off grid in remote places, powered by the sun and moved by the wind.

We are Wes and Kate- an ocean loving couple looking for a Wicked Salty adventure. So we bought a sailboat on Craigslist, did a lot of scrubbing and spent the summer of 2014 learning about through holes, water pumps, and coolant. We then set sail cruising down the East Coast U.S. and over to the Bahamas. It was supposed to be a fun trip after finishing college but we got hooked.

Now, 8 years and 3 sailboats later we are committed to living a Wicked Salty life FOREVER. What our Wicked Salty life entails is always changing but the constants like our crew, love of the sailing and the ocean are concrete.
